Heughscar Hill - Lake District Walk
Monday 17th September 2007
Just after I put the money in the machine at the car park the heavens opened and we spent the next 15 minutes wondering if we were going to get a walk in at all. Once the rain stopped the weather just kept improving and although there was a cold edge to the wind the waterproofs were soon being removed. As the walk progressed we had the pleasure of watching the clouds lift from the tops and the sun lighting up the hills.

I took this picture of Barton Fell whilst John took a phone call. As it turned out it was the phone call that was to lead to his new job and mark the end of our weeks of freedom which have seen us enjoying so many wet camping trips to the Lakes this year. Ah well, it was fun whilst it lasted.
